解 釋 名 詞 ( 以下是基本名詞的英文與中文簡單說明 )

      1.Buddha : 

(1)     The Buddha is the Teacher of the Path to Freedom

(2)     The Buddha is the temporal and ultimate source of Refuge for all beings

  that are seeking refuge from suffering

(3)   The Buddha was the awaken one, from ignorance and open his potential of   wisdom.

(4)  The Buddha Sakyamuni was a prince, and was motivated into 

seek                seeking method to liberate beings after witnessing Samsara.

                  1. :

(1)    佛是我們通往自由解脫道路上的導師

(2)    佛是我們尋求遠離苦痛庇護皈依的對象

(3)    佛是已覺悟的人,從無明中覺醒並開展無邊的智慧

(4)    釋迦牟尼佛過去是王子,因為看到輪迴的痛苦,因此發心找出為解脫眾生痛苦的方法.

2.Dharma:

     (1)The perfect Dharma is the speech of the Buddha in both the spoken and

             Written forms.

         (2)They are the teachings of the Path to Liberation and Freedom

2. 佛法

(1)完美的佛法是佛陀的教導,以口傳或經典的方式呈現

 (2)佛法是有關通往自由及解脫道路的教法 

         3.Sangha: ()

  they are your friend or companions when you practice the Dharma

   (他們是我們修行佛法的朋友及同伴)

         4.Guru :

      (1)Guru is our teacher of the path to liberation and freedom

(2)             (2)Guru is the Root of Blessing, It means through Guru, we will be able to understand 
                the precious Dharma to a significant effect and receive benefit from the Dharma

      (3)Guru represent all-important lineage

       (4)In the Vajrayana, we have to rely on our guru to recognize our Buddha nature and 
                 attain the Enlightenment

              4  上師

  (1)    上師是帶領我們走向自由解脫道路的導師

  (2)   上師是加持的根本.我們唯有經由上師才能真正體會佛法的意義,也才能享受到佛法的利益.

(3)   上師代表重要的傳承力量

(4)    在金剛乘的學習中,我們體認自心本性及成就證悟,必須仰賴上師

5. Yidam:

(1)Yidam is the second Root and our Source of Attainment

(2)We get the attainment through the “Yidam Practice”

(3               (3)All yidams are Buddhas or Bodhisattvas but not all Buddhas or Bodhisattvas are Yidams.

              (4) “Yidam Practice” means we receive the deity’s empowerment, practicing his meditation, 

                   reciting his mantra and praying to him.

     . 本尊

               (1) 本尊是第二根本,也就是我們成就的根本

               (2)我們透過本尊的修行得到成就

      (3)所有的本尊都是佛或菩薩;但並非所有的佛或菩薩都是本尊

      (4)本尊的修行指的是我們接受本尊的灌頂,修行本尊禪修儀軌,持誦本尊心咒,及向本尊祈求.    

       6. Dharma Protectors( Dharmapalas): Dakas, Dakinis

   (1)Dharma protectors are the Roots of Activity (protection of our practice)

   (2)Along the path of enlightenment, we will encounter obstacles, they protect us.

                   6.護法:勇父, 空形母

               (1) 護法是我們佛行事業的根本(我們修行的保護者)

       (2) 在追求證悟的道路上, 我們會有許多的障礙, 護法就是誓願保護我們.

       7.The Three Jewels: (三寶)

Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. ( Goal, Path, and Support)

                    ( , 法 和 僧 ) (目標, 道路, 和支持 )

              8.The Three Roots:(三根本)

           Guru, Yidam, and Dharma Protectors.(上師,本尊,及護法)

              9.Refuge:

(1)Taking Refuge means to accept the Buddha as a teacher

(2)Accept his teaching, the Dharma as a path

(3)Accept the Sangha as guide and companion on that path

(4)Request the Blessing from the Gurus

(5)Request the Attainment through the Yidam

(6)Request the protection of Dharmapalas 

      9. 皈依

      (1) 皈依代表接受佛為導師

                                 (2) 接受佛的教法,也就是佛法為道路

                           (3) 接受僧侶在修行道路上的指導及相伴 

                           (4) 請求上師給予佛法的加持

                           (5) 請求本尊給於佛法上的成就

                           (6) 請求護法保護佛行事業的順暢  

                               10.Accumulation Merit:

                                 (1)It is by doing virtuous action that we accumulate merit

                                 (2)In order to attain Enlightenment, we need to accumulate merit

     10. 積聚福德資糧

     (1)透過善行的實施,我們積聚福德資糧 

     (2)為了要達到證悟, 我們必須積聚福德資糧

    11.Dharmakaya (法身) :

     佛            佛陀以三種方式(法身,報身,化身)顯現出來,其中法身是惟一究竟真實者,

                      因此無法透過觀念來理解,完全無相,知悉一切,能洞察萬法的本來面目及外觀.

        12.Sambhogakaya(報身) :

            報身象徵佛陀在上品菩薩之間的活動,它激勵和啟示眾生求取佛果. 

            這種充實生命的功用,表現在肖像上,則為衣著華麗,如皇族的報身佛

  13.Nirmanakaya(化身) :

             化身代表佛陀在凡夫間所扮演的任何角色,如釋迦牟尼佛.

             在諸國土中依眾生不同根器,示現不同身形,利益眾生.

        14.Samsara: the cycle of suffering(輪迴:苦難的循環)

  It is the endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth.

             (輪迴是無止盡的生,,重生)

            15.Karma ( cause and condition): 因緣果報

             (1). something comes around, goes around (就是種瓜得瓜,種豆得豆)

             (2). how everything works, how and why we become who and what we are,

and where we are going.

( 萬物萬事的定律,包括我們是誰,我們的未來皆受制於因緣果報)

             16.Bodhicitta: 

               (1). the ultimate nature of mind

           (2). the union or combination of Compassion and Emptiness

               (3). the commitment to attaining Enlightenment for the benefit of all

beings and natural things

               (4). A sense of caring, a sense of love, a sense of compassion, a sense of                              

                    kindness, and a sense of gentleness.

               (5) Awakening our heart to Enlightenment

               (6) Bodhicitta has Relative Bodhicitta and Absolute Bodhicitta. The Relative Bodhicitta means arousing great Love and Compassion; The Absolute Bodhicitta means the Wisdom of realizing the meaning of Emptiness.

               16. 菩提心

     (1) 我們的根本本性

      (2) 慈悲及智慧的結合   

              (3)  誓願為眾生利益而證悟成佛之心念

               (4)  是一份關懷,一份愛,一份慈悲,一份和善,及一份寬大溫柔

               (5)  是喚醒我們的心靈朝向證悟

                (6) 菩提心分成相對(世俗)菩提心及絕對(勝義)菩提心.相對菩提心是指升起偉大的仁愛及慈悲心;絕對菩提心則為了悟空性的智慧. 

             17. Emptiness(空性)
